Our Annual Fundraiser
Since 1992, “Starry Starry Night” has raised more than two million dollars in support of Prevent Child Abuse’s work to build strong families and create great childhoods in the Athens area. “Starry Starry Night” has become the premier charitable gala in the Athens community.
The 28th Annual “Starry Starry Night” was held on February 2, 2019 at the Cotton Press. Nearly 300 guests attended the black-tie optional gala that featured an elegant dinner, cash bar, silent and live auctions, entertainment and “Wheel of Fortune” and “Cork Pull”games.
In addition, a big change regarding re-branding was announced to our guests in attendance – Prevent Child Abuse Athens will begin doing business as “brightpaths.” This name change, along with a new logo, is being rolled out in phases during the coming year. Be sure to watch this website and our Facebook page for more information.
Prevent Child Abuse Athens/brightpaths appreciates our 2019 “Starry Starry Night” artist, Whitney Shoe. Her painting (right) was one of the highlights of the live auction. The board and staff thanks everyone who attended “Starry Starry Night” 2019. We also thank the planning committee for doing an outstanding job. Members of the committee were Cathy McCleary, Amy Parrish and Staci Pfeiffer (chairs), Cheryl Aaron, Mandy Baxley, Oonagh Benson, Tricia Bostwick, Libby Beerman, Amy Cascella, Mary DeLoach, Ashley Love, Temple McLanahan, Erin McDermott Gray and Katie Walraven.
